My stay at The Lodge At Nakoma was a mixed bag. The location was beautiful, nestled in the mountains and very relaxing, but I faced significant issues with the room and customer service. While the forest view was lovely, the amenities left much to be desired, and unfortunately, my attempts to resolve issues went unanswered.

I rented a one-bedroom home that lacked basic amenities like coffee and a hair dryer. Noise from the A/C and hot water heater kept me awake for two nights, and I found the deck to be warped and splintered. Overall, it was disappointing.
Service
5.0
The customer service was unresponsive to my complaints, both via email and phone. I faced issues with my reservations that were mishandled despite prior verification, which left me quite frustrated.

The resort is beautifully located in the mountains, which offers a serene environment perfect for relaxation.

I didn't experience the dining offerings thoroughly, but the organic vegetables were a nice touch that I appreciated.
Facilities

The lodge's facilities could use improvement, as the amenities in my room were lacking and maintenance issues were present.

My stay at The Lodge At Nakoma was a mix of highlights and letdowns. While the location offers a pleasant getaway with a tranquil atmosphere, the proximity to the road left me dealing with some noise. The amenities are nice, but they're quite a trek from the lodge. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I expected more for the price. 🌄😕

Rooms

The room was spacious but felt designed for one person, lacking enough seating and amenities. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were a bit too firm for my liking. The bathroom layout was awkward, making it inconvenient to access the shower controls.
Service
5.0
The staff was friendly upon arrival, but the service overall felt disorganized, especially at the pool bar where they had trouble making simple drinks.
Location
5.0
The lodge is set in a beautiful mountainous area, but being less than 50 ft from the main road was disappointing, as it affected the overall tranquility. Accessing amenities required a bit of a hike.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were somewhat limited and slow, with the breakfast being better than dinner. I found it better to head into town for more variety.
Facilities
6.0
The amenities like the pool and indoor recreational activities were enjoyable, but they were inconveniently located a quarter-mile away from the lodge. Navigation could be improved.

I had a solid time at The Lodge At Nakoma, enjoying its beautiful Sierra location and great recreational facilities. The restaurant blew me away with its delicious Elk and wings. However, service could improve, as there were some hiccups with breakfast options and reservations.

My golf course view room was large and clean, although I found it a bit noisy near the road. I appreciated having a comfortable bed and outside access.
Service

While some staff were extremely helpful, I noticed not everyone was trained in hospitality, which made some interactions less pleasant. Also, the lack of breakfast options was a bummer.

Nestled in the stunning Sierras, the location was perfect for outdoor activities and relaxation. I loved the beauty of the area, even taking a 15-minute drive to Gold Lake.
Dining

Dining was a highlight with extraordinary dishes, especially the wings and elk. However, breakfast was inconvenient as it started late and wasn’t offered at the poolside bar.

The pool, game room, gym, and bar facilities were awesome. I enjoyed spending time there, especially the lovely outside deck for meals.

I had mixed feelings about my stay at The Lodge At Nakoma. The setting is beautiful, but I found the resort's location close to the highway pretty noisy. While the staff were friendly and the room spacious, there were issues with the amenities and the overall experience.

Rooms
6.0
The room was roomy but felt like it was designed just for one person, lacking in amenities like a coffee table and towel racks. The bed was comfy, but the pillows didn't provide the coziness I hoped for. Overall, it could use better design.
Service
5.0
The staff were friendly upon arrival, but I encountered a frustrating situation regarding my reservation that took too long to resolve. I didn’t feel that my concerns were well-addressed afterwards.
Location
5.0
The location is frustrating since it's only about 50 feet from the highway, making road noise a constant companion. I expected to enjoy more of the natural surroundings with a better view, but instead, I mostly saw vehicles passing by.
Dining
7.0
I didn't have the chance to try the dining options extensively, but I heard they have some interesting selections, like baked apples that sound tempting for dessert.
Facilities
5.0
The amenities are a bit spread out, which I found inconvenient. The pool and golf course were not easily accessible, requiring a decent walk uphill – definitely not ideal if you're just wanting to chill.

I had a lovely midweek stay at The Lodge At Nakoma, enjoying the beautiful Sierra views and great dining. The room was spacious and clean, but I found some aspects of the service lacking, and the breakfast options were not convenient. Overall, it was a good value for a relaxing getaway. 🌲🍽️

My room was large and comfortable, though I found it oddly laid out for more than one person. It had a nice patio, but I missed having a proper table for dining or working.
Service

The staff was friendly, but not all were very helpful. I felt there could be better hospitality training for some team members.
Location

Nestled in the Sierras, the scenic views were stunning, but I did notice road noise from my room, which could be a downside for some.
Dining

Dining at the restaurant was fantastic! I highly recommend trying the wings and the elk. The casual bar area offered great prices on wine, too.
Facilities

The recreation options were impressive, with a pool, game room, and gym. However, the separation of facilities like the pool from the rooms made it a bit inconvenient.
